Tembleque

Date: May 27, 2012
Time: 9:00
Distance: 60 kms

This time, GARVÍA BIKE – CENTRO TIR went to Tembleque (Toledo).

60 kms to ride fast and furious trying to win.
Although, I was close to be among the best three riders, a mechanical failure in the last 5 kms, avoided me to fight for the main-ranking-podium.

I finished in the 4th place. However, I had been rewarded for crossing an intermediate finish line in 2nd place.
I had the feeling that I could get more in this race, but “that is racing“ and we should be ready for the best and for the worst situations.

Toledo MTB Open: Mora

Date: May 20, 2012
Time: 10:00
Distance: 35 kms

There is no pause for GARVÍA BIKE – CENTRO TIR and we went this weekend to Mora (Toledo).

Although I was placed in the first positions, the race did not start well for me. My feelings were not good enough and I was overtaken by a lot of bikers.
After a while, I found my own pace and I started to gain positions, however, the narrow paths (plenty of stones) were not the best place to overtake.

The head of the race was far away, but the ambition to be in the top and the effort during the whole race awarded me with the 2nd place in Master 30 category.
Despite of the good final position, I did not feel happy enough at the end of the race because my beginning was a “black point” that should be improved in the next dates: That is MTB racing and we will keep on fight!

Thanks to everyone for your support and encouragement!

MTB Guadalajara: Trillo

Date: May 13, 2012
Time: 10:00
Distance: 38,5 kms

This weekend, GARVÍA BIKE – CENTRO TIR went to Trillo (Guadalajara). It was the first race of 11.

After getting the number and warming-up, I try to be concentrated in the starting line.
The race started fast climbing during the first 2 kms.
The race is lead by Ángel Llorens Zafra (Spain MTB Champion), Borja Chivato (2011 MTB Champion) and me (GARVÍA BIKE – CENTRO TIR). Later on, Carlos Hernández will join to the head of the race.
I feel really comfortable in the up hills and I climb easily. However, the other bikers go faster in the down hills.

At mid race I try to set my pace leading the race. The hardest part is coming and I feel really well. I climb hard, but I lose many seconds in downhill.

After a big effort, I achieved the aim of crossing the finish line in the first position. GARVÍA BIKE – CENTRO TIR is the current Championship Leader and we have to ride hard in the next races to keep the leadership.
